Capture the stunning scenery of the Glyderau and Carneddau mountain ranges, the glacial lakes of Llyn Idwal and Llyn Ogwen and the impressive Ogwen Falls.
Details of the Cwm Idwal workshops
Workshops are aimed at all skill levels
The course covers all aspects of landscape including camera controls/settings , filter use, gear choice, advice on composition.
Maximum 6 participants in a group.
The day starts at 08.00am at the Ogwen Visitors Centre and finishes around 2.30pm.
Hosted by a local photographer and the author of the guidebook PHOTOGRAPHING NORTH WALES.
Qualified teacher; BA (Hons) Degree in Education & Training.
The Cwm Idwal workshop involves walking approx 4 miles stopping at different viewpoints along the way. Please note that paths are rocky and uneven and we may ascend approx 300ft to a viewpoint above the lake. Participants do require a reasonable level of fitness and mobility. Due to the terrain unfortunately the course is unsuitable for those with limited mobility.

Photograph the amazing industrial landscape of Eryri Snowdonia in the surroundings of the abandoned Dinorwig slate quarry above Llanberis.
Details of the Dinorwig slate quarry workshops
Workshops are suitable for all skill levels
The course covers all the main camera controls , use of filters, gear choice, advice on composition.
1-2-1 time for each participant during the day.
Maximum 4 in a group to ensure everyone gets the best support on the day.
We start at 08.00am and finishes around 2.30pm.
Hosted by a local photographer and the author of the guidebook PHOTOGRAPHING NORTH WALES.

This location involves exploring the fascinating buildings and inclines of the abandoned workings above Llanberis, Snowdonia in what was once the worlds 2nd largest slate quarry.
Participants require a good head for heights and a good level of fitness and mobility for this workshop as total distance walked is approx 4 miles with a height gain of approx 700ft utlising often uneven, undulating and sometimes short/steep paths through quarry workings. Unfortunately the workshop is unsuitable for those with limited mobility or low fitness levels.

Items to bring with you
Camera/lenses/Spare memory card/batteries/tripod - A digital camera with "semi-automatic/manual" controls (Aperture and Shutter priority) is recommended to get the most from the course.
Filters (if you have them)
A packed lunch/snacks
The relevant user manual for your camera
Warm/waterproof clothing and suitable footwear - weather can be unpredictable all year round in Snowdonia and workshops can take place in very changeable conditions throughout the year so you need to be suitable prepared, just in case.
A head torch is recommended for the Dinorwig slate quarry workshop
What is NOT included in the Eryri Snowdonia photography workshops?
A packed lunch, accommodation, insurance. I recommend you consider obtaining suitable personal insurance to cover both your equipment and travel.
What happens in bad weather?
I monitor weather forecasts and if conditions are predicted to be completely unsuitable, to ensure both your safety and enjoyment of the day, it may be necessary to cancel a workshop. I will endeavour to provide at least 24hrs notice, although this cannot always be guaranteed; you will be offered either a full refund or a place on a future course.
